Lost Property

Unfortunately, we all know what it's like to lose something valuable. Car keys, wallets, mobile phones – losing them can have a devastating effect on you and your hip pocket.

Fortunately, the majority of people are honest and will return items they've found, but to who, and just as importantly – when and how?

That's where Lost Property Dept comes in.

How Lost Property Dept works

Lost Property Dept is a fast, return to owner program that makes it as easy as possible to have lost valuables returned via the speed and security of our own Australia Post.

When you join, you'll receive two premium metal key rings and 15 durable, adhesive metallic silver labels to attach to your nominated items. They'll contain your unique ID code and contact instructions for our 24 hour, 7 days a week call centre. From the moment you stick the labels on your valuables, you're covered! For less than $1 an item each year! That's great value!

What happens when you lose an item?

When someone finds your lost property and contacts our call centre we take over. You will be phoned by our call centre and asked how you would like your property returned to your door: either your home or your work or any address that you nominate. Your choices are 1-2 days by eParcel, $14 to anywhere in Australia or same day by Messenger Post, from $15. In addition to the delivery fee, you will be required to pay the $20 reward and a $15 handling fee.

If we cannot reach you by phone an email and/or text message will be sent to you. If you have nominated a secondary member, we will phone your secondary member and inform them that we have found your lost item. In most cases, you'll have your lost property returned to you on the very same day.
